Chwe'n,
293 years ago today, began the three day seige of Fort Neoheroka, in
which over a thousand Tusarora men, women and children took refuge. At
the end of the third day, almost a thousand had been massacred. This
is the single largest killing in a particular battle, of all the
Indian Wars, and in essence, wiped out perhaps a third of the
remaining Tuscarora population in only three days.
Let us all remember those that gave their lives for their people, so
as to insure that we are here today. It is only 7 years until the 300
year anniversary, and I personally, would like for all of their
remaining ancestors from the North and the South to prepare to tell
their story for the whole world to remember, once and for all.
